My name is Ronalee Rasmussen, I am 27 years old and work as a Speech Language Pathologist. I have been a part of Blackhawk Christian church since I was born and have participated in multiple church activities including: Awana, vacation bible study, 212, campus life, liquid, local mission trips, and volunteered for the church nursery. I asked Jesus into my heart at a young age but like most people I have had my ups and downs, however God has walked beside me through even my darkest times showing me love and forgiveness. Unfortunately, the knowledge of God's ever lasting love and forgiveness is not known to everyone, this is why God asks us to go out and preach the great news about Jesus. This will be my first Missions Trip outside of the United States. When my mom initially suggested that I go on this missions trip with her and my sister, I was a little hesitant. I found myself asking, with all the new changes in my life how would I find time to get prepared and if I am even a good candidate to go. Through prayer, scripture reading, and listening to the service at Blackhawk Christian, I felt God pulling on my heart to be His servant on this mission to assist the residents of Kenya.

Mark 10:45
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

God has given me so much, I am at the point in my relationship with God that I want to give back to the community and others what he has given me. I am ready to be more active by having God use my hands and feet to help others and touch the world like God touched my life.

Please keep the Kenya group in your prayers as we mentally, physically, financially, and spiritually prepare for this trip. Also if you would like to reach out to me with prayers, verses, or suggestions on preparing for this missions trip please do so by emailing me at [email protected].
